Our Approach to Sustainability
Overview
This page outlines the Optimus Group’s fundamental approach to sustainability and its governance framework for advancing sustainability initiatives.
Based on this foundation, we have identified key material issues to be addressed through our business activities and have established specific indicators and targets (KPIs). These initiatives are being promoted across the Group in a structured and coordinated manner.
Core Policy: Our Approach to Sustainability
Since its founding, Optimus Group has upheld its management philosophy: “To optimise our contribution to society through just and fair business practices.”
Guided by this philosophy, we have established the following three pillars as our Group Vision:
- ■ To excel in providing safe, enjoyable mobility solutions and optimal services tailored to individual needs
- ■ To create new value and innovative services while expanding our business toward the future
- ■ To achieve mutual prosperity with all stakeholders and the environment, contributing to the development of a global society as responsible global citizens
Building on this vision, we are committed to contributing to the realisation of a sustainable society by addressing environmental, social, and economic challenges through our business activities across the Group.
Promotion Framework: Our Organisation and Systems for Achieving Sustainability
To drive sustainability across the entire organisation, we have established the Sustainability Promotion Committee.
Chaired by the Chief Sustainability Officer, the committee includes leaders from key business segments and is responsible for deliberating on and overseeing material ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) issues. This structure helps strengthen the effectiveness of our sustainability management.
The committee holds a regular meeting following the end of each fiscal year, during which each member reports on sustainability initiatives within their area of responsibility. These reports are submitted to the Executive Management Meeting and the Board of Directors, where they are reviewed and discussed. This process supports a robust PDCA (Plan–Do–Check–Act) cycle for our sustainability activities, including the formulation and approval of policies and plans for the following year.
In the event of significant shifts in the social or economic landscape, the committee may also convene extraordinary meetings to ensure agile and timely responses. Where appropriate, we seek external evaluations of our sustainability strategies to enhance objectivity and continuously improve the quality and rigour of our efforts.
